Melanie Reinhardt - President

Melanie is motivated by a passion for quality seniors care. Joining the Vantage Living team in late 2017, Melanie brings strategic vision, strong leadership skills and a commitment to quality which have been developed and refined through more than a decade of industry experience. The Vantage Living culture of excellence is well aligned with Melanie’s personal attributes. Opportunity, innovation and “doing it right” are philosophies that Melanie brings to the team as she challenges them to provide only the highest quality services and to ensure the comfort of the residents we serve.

Relationships are key. In order to develop this aspect, Melanie regularly visits all Vantage Living sites to meet our residents face to face and to learn more about their personal experience in a Vantage community first hand.

Residing in the Okanagan, Melanie is a proud mom of 4. She enjoys spending her spare time on the tennis courts and cheering on the hockey teams.

Undergraduate studies in political science have helped form her strategic vision and have aided in the development of tools which are enhanced by certifications with IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) and Procurement and Contract Management.

Evan J. Lopatka, Chief Financial Officer

Evan joined Vantage as Chief Financial Officer in November of 2018. Evan is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, corporate financial systems, treasury and tax.

Prior to Vantage, Evan has 15 years of work experience in hospitality, insurance services and professional services. He has experience showing progressive growth in diverse circumstances, involving rapid change arising from acquisitions, economic change, new business start-ups, and organic growth. He is an experienced leader, with a record of building, leading, motivating, and inspiring diverse teams to operate as cohesive units to execute critical business initiatives with sensitive deadlines.

Evan began his career in professional services firm Deloitte serving public and private clients. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Alberta and is a Chartered Accountant.

Tara-Lee Calhoun - Chief Nursing Officer

Tara-Lee has over 32 years of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse. She is unique in having worked her nursing career in acute care for the past 32 years but truly found her passion in caring for seniors by leading the nursing teams for the past 20 years.

As the Director of Care in Residential care she has provided strong nursing  leadership and ensured best practice outcomes to enrich seniors lives. Since 2013 Tara-Lee has achieved her Gerontology Certification through the  Canadian Nursing Association, to better lead the nursing team in providing the best care for our seniors.

Tara-Lee and her husband have two children and have resided in Kelowna for the past 30 years. Her passion is riding her motorcycle and spending time with her family. She is an avid quilter and she loves decorating her office for every season.

As of April 1, 2018 Tara-Lee has transitioned into the Chief Nursing Officer position to support each of the Vantage Living Sites through her nursing expertise.

Amy Rauscher - Director of Human Resources & Marketing

Amy is driven by creating deep and meaningful relationships with team members and our valued seniors. Amy brings eight years of experience and passion for the senior’s care industry.

At Vantage Living Inc. Amy is responsible for leading the development and implementation of short- and long-term Human Resources and Marketing strategies designed to improve Brand Awareness, Recruitment, Performance Management, Learning and business Growth.

Amy has earned a Bachelor in Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration. She is currently working towards her CPHR designation.

Amy is a proud mom to a little boy, Landon. You can find her trail running or on her yoga mat.

Todd Mallen - Regional Director, IL & Hospitality

Todd is a graduate of Hospitality Management. Having worked within the Hotel & Resort & Senior Care industry for over 30 years, Todd has an extensive background in hospitality.

Todd has worked with several full service resort companies in the capacity of Resort Manager and Director of Operations. In these roles, his responsibilities included overall resort management, financial success, and guest satisfaction. Todd has also served as a board member for both the Kelowna Motel & Hotel Association and Destination Osoyoos.

Todd joined Vantage Living in July 2009, working at Brandt’s Creek Mews as Hospitality Services Manager until December 2009 . Todd rejoined Vantage Living in January 2012 as the Community Administrator at Brandt’s Creek Mews.

In his current role as Director of Resident Services with Vantage Living, Todd is responsible to coordinate, develop, revise and evaluate hospitality services and building services at each Vantage Living retirement community. Todd enjoys learning about the motivations of others, coaching and leading, and most of all, helping others.

Scott Shearer - Regional Director, Long-Term Care & Assisted Living

Scott joined the Vantage Living team in April of 2019 as the Regional Director of Long Term Care and Assisted Living.  In this role Scott is responsible for the day to day operations of six sites including financial management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, employee and resident engagement, and process/systems improvement.

Scott has 30 plus years of healthcare experience and has an accomplished record in senior leadership positions with leading healthcare organizations in both Canada and the United States, and has utilized his analytical, and problem-solving skills in leading change initiatives where his expertise in quality improvement principles have improved quality, reduced costs, and increased customer satisfaction.

Scott is a Registered Nurse who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
